DO. . .
- have current and active anti-virus software running on your home computer.
- use secure passwords for all of your accounts. Do not use common numbers or personal information (like your address, birthday, or pet’s name).
DON'TS. . .
- give out personal identifying information (address, date of birth, SSN) or financial information (bank or credit card numbers) in response to unsolicited calls, emails, texts, or ads.
- respond to e-mail or “pop-up” messages on your computer claiming some problem with a credit card, internet, or other account.
