Dear Community Member,
At the Keenesburg Police Department, we are dedicated to promoting safe and healthy relationships within our community.
Our officers responded to a recent call regarding concerns about your behavior, which may have involved actions classified as domestic violence. Crimes related to domestic violence can include threats, trespassing, property damage, assault, harassment, stalking, sexual assault, and violating a protection order.
Healthy relationships are built on a foundation of trust, respect, clear boundaries, and honesty. Controlling or threatening behavior and any form of violence do not align with these values. Even if you feel you were provoked, responding with violence is not justified and may result in legal consequences. Seeking counseling can be an important step for individuals who want to avoid further involvement with the legal system.
There are several organizations that offer support and resources for people navigating relationship challenges. You’ll find information about some of these services in the materials provided. We strongly encourage anyone experiencing relationship conflict to take advantage of these resources and work toward positive change.

Intimidation, harassment and stalking are crimes. If you are being intimidated, harassed, or stalked, or if you feel you are in danger at any time, please call 911.

PROTECTION ORDERS: A judge orders a person to have no contact with you. If this is in place and the person contacts you, they may be arrested. To obtain further information regarding a protection order, call Weld County Court at 970-356-4000.

T- AND U-VISAS: Victims of certain qualifying criminal activities, including domestic violence, sexual assault, hate crimes, human trafficking, involuntary servitude, and certain other serious offenses may qualify for immigration benefits to encourage victims to come forward and work with law enforcement . Victims can remain and work in the United States for up to four years once granted U nonimmigrant status. U nonimmigrant status may be extended beyond four years in limited circumstances; victims can also apply for a Green Card, also known as lawful permanent residency, if they meet certain requirements. USCIS administers the application process.
